Cancellation Policy

When we host a class or workshop, we order the materials to be used in the class well in advance, based on how many people have signed up. This allows us to keep pricing affordable for our students.

Although we realize that life has a funny way of getting in the way of the best laid plans, as a small organization we cannot afford to carry the burden of lost proceeds and materials.

With that in mind, here is our refund policy:

  • 30 days prior to workshop– We will issue you a cash refund or credit toward a future class.

  • Less than 30 days prior to workshop- We will issue you 100% credit for a future class.

  • Less than 14 days prior to workshop– We will issue you a 50% credit toward a future class. Why? Because we’ve already ordered the materials.

  • Less than 7 days prior to workshop- We cannot issue a refund or issue class credit if you cancel less than 7 days prior to a workshop. At this point, our teachers have already purchased materials for the class. We encourage you find a friend to take your place in class. In order to keep class costs low for all, we make no exceptions to this policy

  • Refunds or class credits requested less than 48 hours before the class, on the day of the class or after the class has happened will not be granted.

All requests for refunds or class credits must be made in writing via email to info@highdesertobservatory.com

If High Desert Observatory cancels: In the unlikely event that we cancel a class due to low enrollment, those who have registered will receive a full refund. Whenever possible, cancellations are made at least one week prior to the beginning of class. If a class is cancelled, we are not responsible for reimbursing travel costs or other reservation fees.
