Perfume began in ancient Mesopotamia, as incense offered to the gods to sweeten the smell of offerings, to heal the sick, and purify the body. The word perfume comes from the Latin perfumar - per “through” and fumar “to smoke”.

In this class we will use natural resins such as frankincense, copal, and amber in combination with plants and flowers to create incense cones. Each participant will leave with a set of their own handmade incense cones and the knowledge to continue this practice at home.
